This policy explains how The Unhackables handles information collected through this support website.

Information we collect

We collect the name, email address, phone number, contribution amount, currency, optional message, anonymity preference, payment identifiers, payment status, browser information and a one-way hash of the visitor’s IP address. We do not store complete card, UPI or bank-account credentials.

How we use information

We use it to create and verify payment orders, maintain accounting and transaction records, prevent fraud, answer support requests, process eligible refunds, meet legal obligations and improve the contribution experience.

Payment processor

Razorpay processes payment credentials under its own privacy and security practices. Information entered inside Razorpay Checkout is transmitted to Razorpay and relevant financial institutions.

Public donor page

The donation homepage itself does not display donor lists. A separate donor page may display a masked version of a donor’s name, the contribution amount, the contribution date and the number of successful contributions used for cumulative ranking.

Middle letters of names are replaced with stars. Email addresses and phone numbers are never displayed publicly. Private transaction information remains available only for payment processing, accounting, fraud prevention, support and legal obligations.

Sharing

We may share necessary information with payment processors, banks, professional advisers, hosting providers, fraud-prevention services, regulators or law-enforcement authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required. We do not sell payment data.

Retention and security

Transaction records may be retained for the period required for accounting, tax, dispute and legal purposes. We use access controls, server-side verification, encryption in transit and limited administrative access, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices

You may ask us to correct your contact information or explain the data connected with a contribution. Some records cannot be deleted where retention is legally required or necessary for fraud and dispute handling.
